What Am I Having?

So up until now I think most evidence was pointing towards me having a boy. I seem to be carrying low and with the kidney thing, that predominantly occurs in baby boys. There is, however, an old wives tale that if the baby's heart rate is below 140 it is a boy and if it is above 140 it is a girl. At my first 4 ultrasounds it was dead on 140...stubborn baby! But yesterday it was at 159! So, there is a small chance it could still be a girl, you just never know.

I have set up a poll, top left of the screen to see what all of yall think I am having. I know you are bashful on posting comments but all you have to do is click what you think I am having, you don't have to login or anything. So...What do you think I'm having? Boy? Girl? Or what Cecil is telling everyone, a Golden Retriever Puppy? Happy voting!!

Guess That Body Part

Here are the beautiful pictures the ultrasound tech gave me yesterday after my appointment...now, I think I am pretty good at reading ultrasounds, but can you see anything in these pictures?

A.
B.
So the question is...What are these pictures of? Feel free to leave a comment :)

Quick Baby Update

Today I went back to the specialist for yet another follow up ultrasound. The baby's kidneys are still dilated...booo...but everything else looks great. So they will make an appointment for me with the pediatric urologist before the baby is born. The doctor thinks that I will still be able to deliver at Sentara Leigh, which is good, and that the baby won't need emergency surgery or anything like that. He said it is actually really great that they found this out because otherwise the baby could get a UTI or something and the pediatrician might not know that is why the baby is sick. So anyway, I will update you on what the pediatric urologist says. I am still hopeful that this condition with reverse itself by the time the baby is born.

Other baby news...the baby is HUGE!! They took these measurements and found that the baby is already 4 lbs 10 oz!! That is a LARGE baby for 32 weeks! Usually they are a little over 3 lbs at this point...I asked the ultrasound tech (VERY nice I might add, loving these EVMS ultrasound techs!) if this meant I would give birth to a large baby and she said yes...So now I am nervous for a whole other reason...I am NOT trying to deliver a 10 lb baby...ugghhh...Although Emily tells me that larger babies sleep better and through the night earlier, so maybe I will have that working for me?

Keep me and the baby in your prayers!

Twilight vs. True Blood

vs.

So one random night in November John and I were shopping out at MacArthur for Christmas presents and the like. We decided while we were out there we should go to the movies and since we frequent the theater often one of the only things we hadn't seen was Twilight. I was shocked when John said we could go. The movie, at best, is a little silly but convinced me to read the book so when I was at target and saw the paperback version I picked it up. Needless to say I finished the 4th book within 2 weeks of that and was totally hooked. I even convinced John to take me back to the movies and see it again, this time it wasn't nearly as silly as before. I am sad there are only 4 books I would have loved to have kept reading on...Edward is such a hottie and a romantic. It is definitely not a challenging read but it was fun to lose yourself in a book.

Flash forward to about a month ago, John and I were looking for something to rent at blockbuster and the man in the store recommended the HBO True Blood series...I was skeptical at first because I had tried to watch one at my parents house once (since they had HBO and we didn't) and had to turn it off because it thought it was so dumb...I guess that was just the pilot because now both of us are totally hooked. It is an odd show but keeps you guessing what will happen next.

I am not sure what it is about vampire series that I like so much, I used to LOVE buffy the vampire slayer, but I sure do find them entertaining. What do yall think? Any other followers out there?

Who Knew??

This week I finally came to the most unfortunate realization...Most of my maternity clothes are no longer fitting...ugghh, mind you many of them are not actually maternity and that might be my problem but it is depressing either way.

The good new is John and I have started cleaning out the work out room for the baby. We had someone come help us Saturday take out the treadmill and the bookcase and I have cleaned out an entire closet to make room for the baby stuff. For those of you who know me well this was a HUGE feat and I even purged myself of 25 pairs of shoes!!! We really would have preferred to be in a new house by now with more space but we are going to make this work :)

On another note, you know you're getting a fat ass when....You climb into your car and repeatedly hit yourself in the butt with the door...oh the joys of pregnancy!

Our Fun-Filled Wednesday Night

Wednesday night John and I headed to the ER...Don't worry, baby is fine, John had a really bad migraine and as a result had distorted vision...Some of you might ask, then why would you go to the ER and not just go home and sleep it off? Well John has a rare blood clotting disorder gene thing called Factor 5 Lyden which makes him more susceptible to blood clots...AND...John almost never gets headaches and had never had a migraine before...so his doctor told us to head to the ER to make sure he wasn't having a blood clot. He is supposed to take a baby aspirin every morning but I, personally, think that he rarely takes it. So off to the ER we went after work to sit and wait for a few hours. You would THINK when you tell a triage nurse that you have a clotting disorder and were instructed to go to the ER that they would see you right away and hook you up to some blood thinners...nope, we just sat and sat so I am glad that it wasn't really a clot because I don't know how long it takes for a clot to do damage but 3 hours of waiting would seem like a bad thing. We were fortunate though, brother Cliff was running rescue so every few hours he would stop in and say hi...he offered to take John to the ER in his ambulance...I opted to drive instead. Anyway, John is fine but I thought it would be important to document this fun and exciting time with my blackberry camera. I am sure I will be the one in the doghouse after this post :)

John in his wheelchair going to get a CT scan
please note he is not impressed that I am taking his photo at this point

John resting on the ER bed...after he was cleared of any clots he let me lie down there...my back was killing me sitting in those ER chairs...needless to say I was over it.

Doggie Playdate

Friday morning since no one had work for the holiday weekend we met Emily, Cody and Frankie down at the beach with Libbie. We have done this a few times and usually Libbie just eats the foam on the water and sniffs at seaweed but since she has become such a water dog we thought we would give it another shot. When we first arrived we were weary about taking her off the leash since we saw 3 small dogs running free...breakfast, right? But surprisingly Libbie was great, she was VERY interested in them but was no aggressive at all. Yay Libbie! And she never strayed too far because she likes to play with Frankie. Frankie is an excellent retriever and LOVES for you to throw the tennis ball out into the ocean...Libbie, not so much...oh well, she did have a great time anyway :)

BEST DAY EVER!
