We're in Trouble Now!!

This morning I put Jack down on his playmat in our room like I do every morning so he will wear himself out before his morning nap. I heard him squawking so I went to get him to put him down and couldn't find him...where could Jack be?

6 Month Check Up

Well we are back from the doctors and we have survived 3 more shots. He was a really good sport, just cried when he got them and has been great ever since, obviously down for a nap now since I am blogging.
Here are his new stats:
16.4 lbs (35th percentile - down from 52% at 4 month check up)
27 inches tall (69th percentile - up from 55%)
16.76 in head (16th percentile)

so obviously he is still a shrimp, if possible more shrimpy than before but at least he is tall :) We are going to boost some new solids to see if that helps and I am SURE when I get him on formula he will pudge up too.
Everything else looks great, he is very busy and very happy.

6 Months Old!!

I don't know where the time has gone! How can Jack already be 6 months old !!?? Jack continues to be the sweetest, most laid back, genius of a baby (I am his mother so I might be biased :)). He has been working hard to sit up by himself and crawl. So far he is really army crawling and isn't great at that...yet...Jack is all over the place and does a pretty good job pivoting on his belly, rolling and pushing himself in corners. He still LOVES his mirror that his great aunt Jillie gave him, just loves looking at himself, apparently I suffered from the same thing growing up, haha...I have started putting him in the stroller without the infant carrier, it is a whole new world for him and he LOVES it! Jack is eating lots of new foods: squash, pears, green beans and peas, all mixed in with oatmeal and likes the squash the most (sometimes I have to trick him to eat the greens with the squash). What I have learned is, he thinks I have been starving him all this time, I cannot BELIEVE how much he eats!! He is starting to loose his interest in nursing so I need to figure out how to ween him. We take him back for his 6 month check up next tuesday so I can't wait to hear how big he is!

Turqs and Caicos

It's a rough life being a baby but someone has to do it!! This past week my parents took the whole family down to Turqs and Caicos for "spring break." ok, technically it was Cliff''s spring break, but we needed one too. This was our first time renting a house and it was absolutely amazing. The house was right out on the beach and had it's own pool. Jack was great on the airplanes and did great on vacation too. He took really long naps, probably bc he was so heavily stimulated, and slept well at night too...in the room with us :) I USED to think that he woke up at 5:30 am and talked to himself and then passed back out until 6:45-7:00ish...I now know that he actually is awake the whole time, just playing in his crib :/ I guess that explains why he is ready for a nap by 8:30.

Also while on vacation we decided to introduce more solids...Jack now eats squash and prunes (nasty but necessary with all that rice cereal) and we mix it in with oatmeal...yummy.
