This girl (screaming no as I take her picture) turns 2 on Monday. How is this even possible? People used to tell me before I had children that once you have them it is like they were always there, that you can't remember you life before them. I haven't found that to be true. I remember life before children; sleeping in, going out, sitting on the beach all day frying. But when I look back on that life before children all I see is how boring life was. Don't get me wrong, yesterday was a doozie. In the span of 24 hours the kids had managed to take every scrap of clothes from Jack's room and put it in my hamper, after of course taking all my dirty clothes and throwing them around my room, tore out all the art supplies from the downstairs closet, ripped all the clothes off the hangers in Annie's closet where they were found "hiding" and finished up the day but plugging their bathroom sink while trying to "fill up the dump trunk", which resulted in a huge flood all the way out in the hallway. Not their best day. But when I think back on yesterday I have to smile. A year ago Jack was living to torment Annie. Now they are thick as thieves and are constantly up to no good...together. I kind of love that.
Annie has turned into a real girl over night. She does NOT like to be called baby. She is "Nene"...yes, like the housewife. She loves to take care of her babies and watch any Disney movie (favorites including: Tinkerbell, Cinderella, all Toy Stories, Cars2 and Wallee). Girlfriend also loves to dance and jump. She is talking up a STORM. This girl has a lot of personality and sass!
Jack has had the biggest transformation this year. He is still wild and constantly testing boundaries but he is the sweetest boy. He is very bright and remembers everything, no redirecting this child. He loves to do puzzles, he would do them all day over and over if we let him. Jack is very strong willed, but we are hoping that will serve him well one day.
